A total of 1,180 tonnes of food for the most vulnerable in the first delivery of 2026

SLOVENIA, February 11 - Assistance from the ESS+ Programme for the elimination of material deprivation in Slovenia for 2021-2027 (POMP), provided by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, remains available this year at the Slovenian Red Cross distribution points - Association Union, Slovenian Karitas, and the Prlekija Youth Centre.

By the end of February 2026, the following quantities of foods will be delivered to their warehouses and distributed to the most vulnerable by volunteers:

  • 128,428.00 kilograms (kg) of white wheat flour TYPE 500
  • 193,092.00 kg of long and short egg pasta
  • 127,162.00 kg of milled long-grain rice
  • 413,158.00 litres (l) of UVT standardised whole milk with 3.5 percent milk fat
  • 169,649.00 l of refined edible sunflower oil
  • 83,548.40 kg of canned vegetables - beans
  • 47,585.20 kg of canned vegetables - peeled tomatoes
  • 18,200.00 kg of home-made marmalade

However, aid is not limited to food. At distribution points, recipients can also participate in accompanying measures that promote social inclusion, strengthen independence, and help them overcome the challenges of material deprivation. They will also receive information about the options for exercising their social rights.

Details about the times of food package distributions and eligibility conditions, as well as the content of accompanying programmes are available at Slovenian Red Cross distribution locations - the Association Union, Slovenian Karitas and Prlekija Youth Centre.

Last year, POMP aid proved to be a key source of support for people experiencing material deprivation, with 3,599 tons of food distributed to 119,676 final recipients throughout Slovenia in 2025, and 63,530 of them included in accompanying measures.
